Holiday Attractions on the Lycian Turquoise Coast

Along the Lycian Coast there is much to do as well as simply sunbathing on the lovely beaches. Activities include most water sports, paragliding, land sports, visiting archaeological and spectacular sites and also great shopping for clothes and jewellery and a great variety of restaurants.

The Lycian Turquoise Coast has paragliding at Olu Deniz, microlights, windsurfing, kite-surfing, sailing, swimming, water-skiing and scuba diving near Fethiye. While inland there is walking, mountain biking, quad biking, jeep safaris, horse riding and bird-watching. Also take in the ancient cities around the Lycian Coast such as Tlos, Xanthos, Patara, Cadianda - the list is endless!


Fethiye Town and Harbour

Fethiye can be reached using the Dolmus minibuses or it is an easy 25 minute drive to a bustling port with lots to offer including modern supermarkets and the famous Tuesday market. By the harbour you can walk by the boats or relax in the many bars and teahouses while in the Old Town there are shops offering quality leather goods, carpets and designer clothes - and the Turkish Bath (Hamam) is a must!

There are good restaurants of all types and an excellent food market has meat and fish at very low prices. Fethiye Town (Telmessos) is steeped in history and you can see Lycian tombs cut out of the mountainside above a Roman amphitheatre.


Tours and events around the Lycian Turquoise Coast

Many operators offer boat trips around the 12 islands in Fethiye Bay, to Gocek Marina and to Saklikent Gorge for water rafting - you can also take a day trip to Rhodes by a fast ferry. Take an escorted tour to the Pamukkale hot springs for the spectacular limestone scenery. The International Air Games during October have aerobatic displays and many competitors paragliding at Olu Deniz. Visit the numerous Roman and Lycian archaeological sites and Walking the Lycian Way will appeal to some.


Olu Deniz Blue Lagoon, Calis Beach & Patara Beach

Calis Beach is a 20 minute drive to a 5km shingle beach with many bars, restaurants and a water park - you can also get to Fethiye Town by water taxi. Olu Deniz, Hisaronu and Kaya Koy are all a short distance from Fethiye. Watch the paragliding at Olu Deniz and visit the Blue Lagoon with its sandy beaches. Lively Hisaronu has night clubs, restaurants and tourist shops and nearby Kaya Koy ghost village was deserted after the population exchange. Patara Beach is one hour away, on the road to Kas and Kalkan, with a 20km unspoilt sandy beach, Lycian tombs and Roman ruins.


Gocek, Katranci and the Dalyan Area

Drive towards Dalaman Airport and after 40 minutes you reach the lovely upmarket harbour and marina at Gocek. A beautiful village with lots of boutique shops and lovely views across the harbour and there is also a regular boat service to and from Fethiye. Leaving Gocek and carrying on past Dalaman takes you to Dalyan which has white water rafting on the river, mud baths and you can also visit ancient Kaunos. On the return drive, just after passing Gocek, you can turn right down to the beach at Katranci which has a lovely bay and many walks along the shore - well worth a visit.


Water Sports Tuition Courses

Water Sports Tuition Courses in Kite-surfing, Sailing and Scuba Diving near Fethiye are part of our efforts to make your holiday a memorable occasion. All courses are local taking 3-4 days, are run by experienced and qualified instructors, and participants are provided with qualifications for completed courses. A great idea for the adventurous and a great way to combine relaxation with adrenalin fuelled activities.


Walking and Trekking Tours

We offer walking and trekking tours in the Spring and Autumn that take you through the beautiful mountain and coastal scenery of the Mediterranean Lycian Coast and include the local flora and fauna and some historical sites.  The tours are a mix of of Grade A (leisurely walk) and Grade B (moderate trek) that do require you to be in good health and reasonably fit. The tours cost £395 per person (excluding flights) and include all meals, accommodation and transport for groups from 6 - 12 people.
